Be clear about what you expect from your students.  Classroom expectations should answer the question ‘What do I need to do in order to be successful in this classroom?‘  Without clear expectations,  one runs the risk of a situation filled with chaos, anxiety,  and/or frustration for all.  A successful leader clearly communicates his/her expectations.  Keep classroom expectations general, simple, and realistic.  Three to five expectations should be sufficient.

Teaching Tip: Create visual aids to reinforce classroom expectations.
